Autoprinter vs Orderly Print
Does Orderly Print print orders automatically? Its listing and help center describe no automatic printing: you load orders, open the preview and click Print in your browser. Autoprinter prints them for you, sending packing slips and invoices to your own printers as orders come in, and prints Shopify shipping labels with zero clicks.
Orderly Print, by FORSBERG+two ApS, is a bulk order dashboard for high-volume stores. You filter and tag orders, then print picking lists, packing slips, invoices and address labels in batches, fulfill them in bulk with tracking, and export files for carrier software.
If you print a big batch by hand once or twice a day, Orderly Print may be all you need. If you want printing to happen without you, that is what Autoprinter is for.
Facts as of October 25, 2026
Why choose Autoprinter over Orderly Print
- Prints by itself. Packing slips and invoices print when an order is placed, paid or fulfilled, with nobody pressing Print.
- Zero-click shipping labels. Buy a label in Shopify as usual and it comes out of your label printer, with no print dialog.
- Every document an order needs, together. The Print Chain prints each order's packing slip, invoice, return slip or gift receipt in one go: automatically, or from the order's More actions menu with Auto Print Chain.
- Labels, sheets and receipt rolls, each on its own printer. Letter, A4, 4 × 6 labels and 80 mm or 58 mm receipts go straight to the printer that matches.
- The right document for each order. Print Rules choose which template prints, and on which Print Station, for each order.
- Your brand, already filled in. Autoprinter picks up your Shopify logo and colors when you install it, and Re-sync from Shopify pulls in later changes.
At a glance
| Topic | Orderly Print | Autoprinter |
|---|---|---|
| Automatic printing | Not described No automatic printing is described. You select orders, open the preview and click Print, which opens your browser's print dialog. Its Automated PDFs are download links in Shopify emails, not printing. | Yes The documents you choose print by themselves when an order is placed, paid or fulfilled, with nobody pressing Print. You pick the trigger and turn it on in Settings. |
| Shipping labels | No No carrier shipping labels. Its help center says its labels are address labels, not paid shipping labels. It prints Avery address label sheets, and peel-off labels on the same sheet as a document. | Yes Zero-click. Buy a label in Shopify, click Print shipping label as usual, and it comes out of your label printer with no print dialog. Needs Google Chrome with the Autoprinter Chrome Extension; you keep buying labels in Shopify. |
| Print Chain | Partly You click a document button, such as invoices, packing slips or picking list, and print each yourself; a returns form can print after each document in the same job. | Yes Every document an order needs prints together, each on its own printer: automatically, or from the order's More actions menu with Auto Print Chain. |
| Printers and paper sizes | Prints through your browser's print dialog; an in-app printer selector is not described. Templates are designed for A4 or Letter; its help center gives a CSS change to shrink them onto 4 × 6 or A5 paper, except in Firefox. Thermal printers are not described. | Straight to your printers, on the right paper. Prints to any printer on a Windows or macOS computer through the Autoprinter Desktop Utility, or from your browser. Paper sizes are Letter, A4, 4 × 6 in thermal labels, and 80 mm or 58 mm receipt rolls, and the paper size decides which printer gets each document. |
| Choosing a document per order | Not described No rules described. You select orders and click a document button, and one of three built-in themes applies to every document. | Yes Print Rules choose which template prints, and on which Print Station, for each order. A rule can match more than 15 order details, such as sales channel, tags, SKU, product collection, fulfillment location, ship-to country and order total. |
| Print history and alerts | Not described Not described in its listing or documentation. | Yes Know when printing stops. Print History lists the documents queued for your Print Stations, with each job's status. Autoprinter warns you when a Print Station stops picking up jobs, and a Shopify Flow trigger can run when a Print Station goes offline. |
| Templates | A settings editor with no code for most changes, plus custom CSS; custom Liquid templates aren't possible. Three built-in themes, a picking list style you can override with custom CSS, and text you can edit in the preview before printing. You upload your logo in its settings. | No code needed. Built-in templates you adjust with switches and drop-downs, plus 30+ sample templates. Custom templates in HTML and CSS with Handlebars-style variables. No limit on the number of templates, on any plan. |
| Orders split across locations | Partly Bulk fulfillment supports multiple locations, and packing slips can show only unfulfilled items. A separate packing slip for each fulfillment location is not described. | Yes One packing slip per location. An order split across fulfillment locations gets a packing slip for each location, listing only that location's items, or one set for the whole order if you pack in one place. |
| Document languages | Yes Documents change language with a single click, but its pages don't list which languages. | Yes Six languages built in. Built-in templates print in English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch or Italian and lay out addresses for each destination country. Dates and prices follow the region you choose on every template. The app's own screens are in English. |
| Shopify Flow and Sidekick | Not described Not described in its listing or documentation. | Yes Works with both. Six Flow actions print an order's Print Chain, packing slip, invoice, return slip or gift receipt, or one pick list for your open orders. Four Flow triggers run when a document prints, a print fails, a Print Station goes offline or you near your monthly order limit. Sidekick answers questions about your order allowance, your printers and what printed. |
| Bulk printing | Yes Select and filter orders in its dashboard by date, payment, fulfillment, order status and tags, or load selected orders from Shopify. Bulk fulfillment with tracking is also supported. | Yes Select orders in the Shopify orders list and send their documents to your printers, or open one combined preview and print it from your browser. A pick slip covers up to 50 orders. |
| Documents | Invoices, packing slips, returns forms, picking lists, address labels, and CSV or Excel exports. Draft orders aren't supported until converted to orders. | Packing slips, invoices, pick slips, return slips and gift receipts. Sample templates add sales receipts, kitchen tickets and pickup slips. |
| Shopify POS | Not described in its listing or documentation. | In-store POS sales print automatically on a Windows or macOS computer at the store (not on the POS device, phone or tablet), for example a kitchen ticket on a receipt printer, with each location's tickets sent to that location's printer. Automatic printing can skip them instead. |
| Printing documents yourself | Yes Select orders, click a document button and print the preview through your browser's print dialog, or save it as a PDF from there. You can edit text in the preview first. | Yes Printing from your browser needs nothing installed: open an order, choose Print → Autoprinter, pick a document, and print the preview like any web page. |
"Not described" means Orderly Print's App Store listing and documentation, cited below, don't mention it. It is not a statement that Orderly Print can't do it. Every other Orderly Print fact comes from those pages.
